Using ScarBan

Using Scarban

Scarban C-Section is a medical device specifically designed for C-section scar care. For the best results, always follow the instructions provided with the product and consult your healthcare professional. Using Scarban silicone sheet as directed can help improve healing, reduce redness, and minimise C-section scar formation.

How to use Scarban C-Section

Important points for using Scarban C-Section:

  • Start using Scarban as soon as the wound has fully closed, and any stitches have been removed.
  • Ensure the silicone sheet covers at least 2 cm around the scar. If necessary, it can be cut to the correct size.
  • To improve adhesion and durability, it’s best to remove any hair around the scar area.
  • Clean and dry the skin thoroughly before applying the silicone sheet to ensure proper adhesion.
  • Gradually increase wearing time so your skin can adjust to the silicone.
  • For optimal results, wear the silicone scar sheet for at least 12 to a maximum of 20 hours per day.
  • Clean the silicone sheet daily using the supplied cleaning soap to maintain its effectiveness and adhesive power.

How to clean your Scarban C-Section silicone scar sheet

To maintain their adhesive power, Scarban C-Section must be cleaned daily.

Step 1: Apply Neutral Soap

Gently rub the silicone sheet with a few drops of Scarban® Silicone Cleaning Soap or a neutral soap.

Step 2: Rinse Thoroughly

Rinse the sheet well under lukewarm running water to remove any grease or soap residue. After washing, the adhesive strength temporarily disappears, causing the sheet to roll up.

Step 3: Drying

Place the silicone sheet on a dry, clean surface with the adhesive side facing up. As it dries, the sheet will unroll itself, and the adhesive strength will gradually return. Only reapply the silicone sheet once it is completely dry.

Helpful Tips:

  • If the edges become damaged over time, they can be trimmed to maintain adhesion.
  • Avoid using creams or oils on the scar area, as they can reduce the lifespan of Scarban C-Section. Ensure thorough cleaning to maintain effectiveness.

How to use Alhydran and Scarban C-Section

For the best results, apply a small amount of Alhydran to the scarred area after washing. Let the cream fully absorb into the skin for up to an hour. If the area still feels greasy after an hour, gently clean off any excess cream before applying Scarban C-Section. This ensures optimal adhesion and effectiveness of the silicone scar sheet.
